“Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered” (1Peter 3:7 NLT) — We all know individuals who are mean, rude, cruel, and just plain nasty to their friends, family members, co-workers, and spouses. But I wonder if they knew their prayers would be hindered, would it change how they treat others? Treat others with love, kindness and God will tune in to your prayers.

Prayer of a righteous person is powerful!  The illustration above does not represent a righteous person. Let’s not treat others in an uncaring way. It has an impact on our prayers. Allow this to penetrate your spirit, because if this behavior is consistent in your life, you are closing the door on effective prayers. This is especially true in marriage. Don’t think you’re going to treat your spouse dogmatically, then turn around to pray, and expect to receive a blessing.

We must be understanding and respectful to the needs of others. Our goal is to Be Kind to one another as Ellen states at the conclusion of her show. Ask God to help you to live in a way that honors Him at all times. Choose to be a blessing to others not a curse.

Always abound in love, and love will always open the door to your prayers.
