“But do not forget to do good and share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” (Hebrews 13:16)–Growing up as an only child, didn’t give me many opportunities to share. I didn’t realize that it was not only a polite thing to do, but it pleased God as well. When you come from humble beginnings it’s not easy to share when you have gained success. You live to hold on to everything that you have as if you blessed yourself.

It’s pretty plain to see that maybe God felt that as He blessed us with increase, that we would try to hold on to it. So He reminds us in Hebrews 13:16 by saying, “Do not forget to do good and share.” It doesn’t cost us anything to do good for others. Spending time with family, friends, senior citizens, the sick are ways of giving your time. You are also sharing your time with them. Think of it as an investment and your reward will be given back to you in heaven.

You may not have a lot of time, money or material things, but if you make a sacrifice God is well pleased with your actions. Live your life in a way that pleases our Father who art in heaven.
