O Israel, stay away from idols! I am the one who answers your prayers and cares for you. I am like a tree that is always green; all your fruit comes from me (Hosea 14:8).

The book of Hosea ends on a hopeful note. We are reminded that hope doesn’t stand on its own. Hope without God will fade away. If our hope rests on our job, our abilities, or other people, then it will be disappointed. But when our hope rests fully on Him, the one who answers our prayers and cares for us, we have a hope that will endure. His hope will sustain us. His hope opens the doors for faith to move. His hope refreshes us like the tree that always produces fruit.
