Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water” (Matthew 14:28).
Stepping out requires faith. Peter had faith to step out of the boat. Notice that he ask, “Lord if it’s really you tell me to come to you.” How many times have we prayed for a need to be meet in our lives, then we question whether or not it’s from God. Then we ask God to give us another sign. We know what God is capable of. We’ve read his word and followed his miracles, but we need another sign.
Peter believed Jesus was who He claimed to be. He fixed his eyes and heart on Jesus. Peter’s faith was stirred up and he believed that he could do what Jesus was calling him to do. What is Jesus calling you to do? You need to be as bold as Peter. Peter didn’t wait around inside of the boat for something to happen. Step out, be proactive! Combine your faith with action. Believe and speak words of encouragement; It’s my time to come to a new level, it’s my time to step out and accomplish my dreams, it’s my time to step out and break bad habits, it’s my time to see God’s blessing and favor in my life. Believe its your season of increase!
This kind of attitude will take you to Jesus and He will respond, “Come to me.”
