Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak! (Matthew 26:41).

We all have weaknesses that we have to maintain control of. Especially temptations that we know we shouldn’t do, but somehow we find ourselves weak and submit to the flesh. The answer is to overcome temptation by praying ahead of time. Be proactive with your prayers concerning your weakness. That’s what Jesus told His disciples in the garden. Notice that He acknowledged that the spirit is willing. That means we all have good intentions. God has given you an inner desire to do what’s right, but it’s not enough to just have the desire. You have to pray so that the spirit will become strong! If you have a temper, you need to pray about it every morning before you leave the house. Otherwise the flesh will draw you in to its control. Don’t allow the enemy to bring strife into your spirit. Know your weaknesses and pray daily about them. Ask God to help you control your weak area and not give into temptation.

The Lord will bless and prosper everything you put your hand toward, if you would just ask. He will make your crooked places straight, and your rough places smooth, if you would just ask him. God is able to change your future, if you would just ask him. Keep watch over your weaknesses and pray always!
