“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight.” (Romans 4:7)
King David was guilty of terrible sins: adultery, murder, lying, and yet he experienced forgiveness. So King David was able to find joy, because he was forgiven. King David was a man after God’s own heart.
We all fall short of the glory of the Lord, but we can’t rest in our sin. We must confess sin in order to be forgiven. Don’t walk around feeling guilty about the mistakes you’ve made in the past. Quit denying your guilt and recognize that you have sinned! Admit your guilt to God and ask forgiveness! Let go of your guilt and believe that God has forgiven you! We serve a forgiven God and in that forgiveness is pure joy! So, put those sins out of sight!
