For am I now trying to win the favor of people, or God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)
We live in a world where the main focus seems to be on pleasing the people around us. Teens’ worry about what their friends think and if they can fit in with what they call “Normal”. Adults worry about pleasing people they work with, family members, and their neighbors. It’s amazing how people can be behind on their mortgage and go buy a new car. We really have to ask the question, who are we trying to please?
If you would spend as much time pleasing God as you do with trying to please the world, you would be favored abundantly. God sees your heart. He is not concerned with the material things you have. As you go about this day, think about how you and your behaviors can please God. How God sees you should be your motivation to do what is right. He sees your heart and understands your thoughts. What others think about you is not important. What God thinks of you is vitally important!
So, today live your life to please your Father who art in Heaven!
