1 Peter 5:7

Give all your worries and cares to God for he cares about you.

There is no need for you to carry things, thoughts, and people that weigh you down. God is in control. His grace and mercy are new each and every day. Leave it all at the feet of Jesus for he cares for you. He is ready and willing to handle your concerns, but it is up to you to give them up! Lift them up! Open up your heart and release them up to the one that is concern about perfecting whatever you are going through!! When worry appears in your mind, think on the Word of God that will see you through. Put on Christian music that will allow you to move from your present state to a state of peace. God Cares!!

Jonah 4:7-9
But God also arranged for a worm! The next morning at dawn the worm ate through the stem of the plant so that it withered away. 8And as the sun grew hot, God arranged for a scorching east wind to blow on Jonah. The sun beat down on his head until he grew faint and wished to die. “Death is certainly better than living like this!” he exclaimed.
9Then God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry because the plant died?”
God used a great sea creature to correct Jonah’s attitude about a trip to Nineveh. Now he uses a small worm to teach his prophet a further lesson. First, the worm does what God programmed it to do: it begins eating the stalk of the plant. With the plant now useless for shade, God increases Jonah’s discomfort further by means of a scorching east wind. As the sun rises all this works together to cause Jonah to become light headed and dizzy. he temporarily forgets his anger but remains self-centered as he expresses his wish to die.
We see here how God is teaching Jonah a lesson about his anger. Don’t get angry about things you can’t control. Too often this is what happens in our lives. Release it to God and allow Him to cover you. Think about how you deal with anger. Prayerfully you don’t wish to die, but we see in this story that we must come to terms with how we should not allow anger controls us.

Jonah 4:-2

This change of plans greatly upset Jonah, and he became very angry. 2So he complained to the Lord about it…

Here we have the Prophet Jonah literally getting angry with God. He was so angry that he complained to God about it. As I was studying this scripture, what resonated with me and the question I have is why did Jonah get so angry? This is a prophet one God called. I can only assume that there were some things going on in his heart. Some things and issues that had not been settled in his life. Things and baggage that he was still carrying around even as he ministered the Word of God!

It’s so important to get to the root cause of what makes you angry! I hear many “Christians,” say, ” Well this is just the way I am, or God knows my heart”. But when you truly love God and spend time in His Word, you are taught not give way to anger. In James, it speaks about not allowing envy and strife to enter into your heart. When you know the word you fight against the enemy using the word. Don’t get caught up in your flesh. Especially if your anger causes you to hurt others by your WORDS and ACTIONS! Yes, it is an emotion God gave us, but don’t allow it to hurt others or get angry at God as Jonah did.

Anger can be a toxic emotion. Mark Twain wrote that “anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”

The Bible has much to say about anger (Proverbs 29:2; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:8; James 1:19, 20 etc). Let God work with you as he did with Jonah. He will help you overcome your problem. Anger is not sinful in and of itself. But irrational anger needs corrective action, and that’s what God will provide for you as He provided for Jonah. Read the Word!

John 8:12

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Jesus had to tell the people twice that He is the light of the world, and we are still having to get this same message out today. Follow the one that gives light and life in a dark situation. When you experience the light of Jesus for yourself its hard to turn back to the life you once knew. If you are struggling in this area take a close look at your surroundings, your inner circle. Are they helping you to walk in the light, or are they leading you back toward darkness? The road to darkness is wide. The path to light is narrow, but it is so worth it. Be the light and lead others to Jesus! There is no turning back!

1 Corinthians 6:19

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,

It’s important to treat your body with respect. Your body is where the Holy Spirit resides. Your must honor God with your body. Avoid things that lead to dishonoring your body.

1Corinthians 6:9-11 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Remember you live in this world, but are not of this world. You belong to God!

Psalms 119:9

How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.

We make things so complicated and complex. Purity and youthfulness are really simple. It’s a simple lifestyle and easy to follow. Just obey the Word of God.

When we are born into a life of sin, that’s the life you know. That’s the life you think is pure and simple. The Bible assures us that as long as you are obeying the Word of God you will stay young and pure. I don’t know about for you, but that’s great news for me!

Let us all walk in our youth and purity that can only be obtained by obeying God’s Word!
